I just had the most awkward experience. You know, in the morning you've had your coffee, maybe you've had a snack, and whether you get to the office early or you show up late, I don't know what your MO is, but if you share a bathroom and our office, the bathrooms are outside. It's a little community of businesses and we have this couple of bathrooms that we all share. Well, you know, sometimes if you go to the bathroom and it says that it's occupied, you sit there and wait and out there. Today, in strangeness enough, they were both occupied, not usually the case. Usually they're either at least one's open, and I was waiting there for a good three to five minutes. It always seems longer when you actually have to go to the bathroom, and I didn't have to do anything crazy, if you know what I mean. I just had to get in and get out and I'm sitting there waiting and I kept waiting and I swear it was like even longer than that. It felt like it was about 10 minutes. I'm standing out there my leg's shaking. I got to go and the door finally opens after about 10 minutes to one of them, and you know what was going on in there. It's not going to be good. You know you're walking into something that's just going to. You might have to plug your nose, but more embarrassing than that is when the person that comes out.
Speaker 1:And this guy came out and I knew what he was doing in there and I knew what was going to smell. And we made eye contact and he knew I was waiting to go in there. So he knew I was going to experience what he just experienced the aftermath of it. So we made eye contact, I came up to him and I definitely didn't shake his hand, but I held the door like I got to go. So I'm doing this and I wasn't going to hide and wait for the door to close and reopen it. I'm like I have a purpose. I got to get in there too. It's awkward, but I'm going to do it and I don't care. I could just tell he just kind of tucked tail and kind of sauntered into his office around the corner and he probably felt pretty embarrassed. And my goal there was nobody else waiting at this time my goal was to get in as quickly as I could, get out as fast as I could, because if somebody comes in after me or if somebody is in the situation where I was waiting. Then I'm going to come out and I'm going to be embarrassed not because of what I did, because I wasn't doing anything super gross in there. The person that was waiting might think it was me. So I'm like I got to get in, I got to get out and hopefully nobody's waiting there because I don't want to have that eye-to-eye contact with somebody. So that was my morning experience today, and I'm sure some of you have experienced your own poop stories and awkward moments. Of course we all have. We're human, and this episode that we're about to jump into has absolutely nothing to do with that. It was on my mind, I made a note about it and I'm like well, let me just talk about it because I know it's something that we all face every now and then the trials and tribulations of being human and having to go to the bathroom. What are we going to do? But anyway, today's episode is awesome. We're going to spice things up a little bit.
Speaker 1:For those of you that get my newsletter, you know that I sent out some emails recently, including one of my mentors, friends, one of my coaches courses. He has this five-day free success accelerator which opens your mind to new possibilities. He's a mindset guru. His name is Brad Bizjack and he's just an incredible fella. And some of you signed up for his course called Rewired, and I know it's going to change your lives. It's incredible and the knowledge that he instills in you is second to none.
Speaker 1:So last week I actually had the opportunity and he asked me kindly. He said hey, ryan, I would love to interview you. I love what you've done with your business and the way you connect with your audience, and I would just love to pick your brain. And he was asking all these different, these marketers and leaders of industry to have these one-on-one conversations, people that he has also directly affected with his coaching. And I said, of course. So I asked for a copy of that and he knows I'm going to repurpose it for this and I really want you to listen to it because it's a very powerful conversation. And whenever I have a mic in front of me with a conversation, I open up most of the time too much, I go a little too deep, but I'm an oversharer and I think when it comes to helping others improve their lives, it's a good thing. So I hope you enjoy this session here today. It's an interview where Brad Bisjack is interviewing me. And that's it. Let's just get started. Hey friends, let me jump in here real quick.

It is the program if you are in the hair or hair salon hair studio space. This is the program that is world renowned like the greatest program in the world for hairstylists to master the skills that allows them to raise their prices and things like that and to create an amazing service for others. I'm gonna give him explain a little bit more, but I'm gonna let Ryan into the room real quick. Everyone say hi to Ryan. We didn't. Where is he? Mr Ryan, connecting to audio. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do. Do. There he is. Where's your beautiful face? Where is it there? Dude, are you in a new studio?
Speaker 1:I am, yeah, yeah, yeah. I even put in the gamer lights here to make it look extra cool.
Speaker 2:I love it. Well, you look great man. How the heck are you doing?
Speaker 1:dude, I'm doing great yourself.
Speaker 2:Doing fantastic. I'm so excited to chat with you. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to be here live streaming in the success accelerator, full transparency. 11,000 people have access to this video, so, just as a heads up, you're streaming live into the group right now, and so tell us a little bit about what you do, ryan.
Speaker 1:Whatever it takes, what is your-? I heard somebody say that recently and I'm like I'm gonna go with that one.
Speaker 2:Whatever it takes. Tell us a little bit about what your business is.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we provide premium hair education for hairdressers. We're in a niche of Bolliage, which is a hair painting for those of you that might not be familiar with that and what we do is we provide the right resources to help. I'd say like high level education for stylists. I wanna have our high achievers, I wanna have a reach, a high level of income and freedom in their life. So I love what you do. We're on the perfect playing field together. It's amazing.
Speaker 2:I love it so much, man. It's made such a big impact. Your events are so impactful. You've impacted tens of thousands of people all over the world with your certifications and you've extended into Blonde as well, as well as extensions, which is so freaking fantastic. And you have products and you do classes and you're just a beast guys. This dude's like the most humble dude in the world, but he is bonkers successful in this space and you made such an impact and I've loved the work that we have done together. Take us back to before we started working together and kind of what you were going through at that time or challenges that you were facing that our work unlocked or changed.
Speaker 1:Well, I think one thing to start off with is just the power of coaches in general. Whether it's a soccer coach or a personal growth coach, they serve a purpose. They are able to take a look at you and see things that you can't. And different times in my life, as any high achiever people that want more in their life, that strive to try to find that next level of their passion, their best self, whatever their mission is you get to a point where you've reached the ceiling and you can't really get much higher than that ceiling. You might be able to punch through it just a little bit, but if you really want to make huge, exponential strides, it's gonna take someone's help, someone that's not necessarily even at a higher level than you, but at a different level than you, a different potentially playing field that has different experiences that can bring to the table and say like, hey, have you tried this? Have you looked at this? Have you thought about this? This worked for my business, maybe this will work for your business. Or I've heard about this or follow this or read this, things that we just don't physically have enough time for to do it all ourselves. So many of us try to do everything and thinking that we're just gonna throw that spaghetti against the wall. See what sticks. The problem is a lot of us don't take the time to focus on what sticks. We just keep throwing more spaghetti at the wall. But what happens to me before I reach these ceilings throughout my life different points of my life is I get to a point where I'm just ready to pull my hair out. I can't physically find more time to do what I wanna do. I'm trying to do everything myself. I might not have the resources or be ready to let go of my ego to hire somebody to do something that I know I can do really well. So there are these different times when I'm like I need help, and I think one of the hardest things for us to do as achievers and entrepreneurs or business owners is to ask for help because we feel like it's a blow to our ego, to our confidence, Like I should be able to figure this out on my own. Why do we think that? It doesn't make any sense. It's just because we're really good at something. It doesn't mean we have to be good at everything else. It doesn't mean we have to know what that next step is. That's why we hire people to help us get there, whether we're trying to get jacked in the gym.
Speaker 1:I've been going on the gym for years wanting to get this gaining weight and do this, and only recently did I take it seriously enough to be like, look, I'm not getting any younger. I want to be in the best shape of my life. So I hired a trainer who's going to actually make me do the work that I can't consistently do, make me do the things that I don't know about. I haven't been able to focus my life on what to eat, what to work out, how to go to the gym and be most effective, and on those days when I don't want to get up in the morning, I don't want to go to the gym. I have to go to the gym. I have that accountability because somebody is one. I'm paying, so you pay to pay attention. Right, if you pay for something you're like okay, I put a lot of money into this. So I'm going to actually get my time's worth, my money's worth, and I was at a point in my life when I, when I met you, we were friends.
Speaker 1:First we met on a mastermind and then we became friends and we're trading Information, getting to know each other. You know, hey, this is what I'm doing in my business, this is what you're doing. You know, you'd ask me something, I'd ask you something. And it was very cool because, even though we're we started out as peers and we are peers and we are friends there are times when I'm just like you have Superpowers that I don't and I need to tap into those superpowers and I want to hire you and I hired you to come Do a two-day intensive because my business is booming and it's great and it's amazing. But Even though your business is booming, even though money is coming in, doesn't mean you're necessarily happy, doesn't mean you're necessarily Feeling peaceful about it. Normally it's just like it's chaos. Right?
Speaker 1:I needed somebody to help organize all the chaos and streamline what was happening in my business, helped me get clarity on my goals, my mission, who am I, what am I doing?
Speaker 1:Who am I serving, why am I serving them and how can I connect it into the synergistic universe so that everything works together?
Speaker 1:And Before that time, I reached that a different ceiling in my career and I asked you to come out. This is almost, almost a little over a year ago now, and you came out and you Sat down with us for two days and it felt like two weeks because of the amount of information and ideas and and thoughtfulness that came out of that like a fire hose, and I Was able to finally Gain clarity and see all this stuff that I had shooting off in different directions and then be able to pull it together. And it was just like when things click, when you get that ring of truth, it's amazing what happens. You just all this stuff that you're carrying around, all this baggage, it just it goes away and you can just relax and feel like you have that clarity of purpose, that laser focus, a Direction, and and you were able to do that for me and and we were able to implement it some things right away, some things a little bit later, but just knowing that we had that direction, that path, changed everything.
Speaker 2:Dude, this is amazing and I'm so excited to we'll eventually get to the results of what it's done, because it's it's incredible what it's done. But if we take a look back at Some of the beliefs right as it relates to everyone here in the group some of the beliefs that you've adopted to create the success that you've created and the happiness and fulfillment that you have in your life if you could pick two or three, you know, beliefs that really drive your life that could add a ton of value to the people here in this group. What are those beliefs? I?
Speaker 1:Would say they were there. They're more affirmations, and the first two that come to my mind are I will always find a way. So, no matter what comes my way, no matter what challenge, no matter what setback, I will always Find a way through it. I might not be happy about finding a way through it, but I will find a way through it, I will figure it out. And that always puts me in that Solution mind set, that positive frame of mind.
Speaker 1:Another, another mindset I put myself into and I and this was recent in the last probably half a decade or so, it may be, probably when I started making money, but before that we always we grew up with these weird money issues. You know, we don't talk about money, it's just don't talk about what you make, don't talk about money. You know, pay your bills and be happy with who you are and where you're at right. But we are, most of us are taught to make enough to pay our bills and with that mindset it's very limiting and we might, you know what we're gonna do, we're gonna work hard and we're gonna make enough to pay our bills. That's why we don't have any savings. That way. We don't have any wealth, any anything past that. It's like we have to evolve Our mindset, and that's what I love about what you do. You help with mindset, and this shift helped to help me years ago, and I and I, instead of you know, gosh, making money Is hard, change it.
Speaker 1:Making money is easy. Oh, simple as that. Making money is easy and you know what it really is. Making it's easy, you know. I mean, it's like you can go out there and you could go out there and make money today if you wanted to. You have to start to have these beliefs that, okay, there are always ways to make money. The tricky thing is finding out what you love to do and Helping that transpire into making money, doing what you love. But making money is easy. And when you have this mindset, you have this, this, this excess type of a framework in your head that I'm not just gonna try to pay my bills, I'm not just gonna try to get by.
Speaker 1:Making money as easy, which makes, which means building wealth. It comes easy because you're always gonna have money coming in, and it's just weird how the universe does that, that Intrinsic work on how it, how you just put the thoughts out there and in the real somewhere and then they become real in your head and then, once you start to do it and once the money starts to come in, once you start to solve these problems that you're having, you realize I'm pretty darn good at this and you really believe it. That's why people that you really believe it, that's why people that rich people that maybe go bankrupt, they make a wrong decision and lose it all their millionaires, are probably right back where they started just weeks later in a blink, because they know what it takes to get there. They know the mindset, they know the strategies, they've learned how to be successful, and 100% it starts in the mind.
Speaker 2:And so this is so powerful Money is, making money is easy. Now, that's an interesting belief. Just the other day, on this chart, I showed something about how, like, if I flip this back, I wasn't planning on going here. But if we talk about the success cycle right, if making money is hard, what does that do to our potential and therefore action, our results and then our belief? But if we instead have a belief that says making money is easy, different potential, different action, different results, and it really the belief you already had, which is fantastic, that's amazing.
Speaker 2:So if I would take a look at some of the people in the group and some of the challenges they've been sharing in the group, some of the things that have come up over and over again are trading time for money right. I have to hustle harder and grind more to make more. Some people, especially in business, are afraid to raise their prices right and charging their value. Some people in the group have a fear of just having boundaries in their life and have the fear that creating this success story isn't possible for them. Looking back at the last, I don't even know how long you've been in business. Whatever years you've been in business, what advice would you give those people you mentioned? All starts with the mind, so what beliefs or what thought processes would you recommend that those people adopt?
Speaker 1:Absolutely Well. The first thing is vision. You don't have boundaries because you don't know what you stand for.
Speaker 2:Brazil, I've forgotten the back.
Speaker 1:Yeah, right, once you have clarity on who you are and what you want you don't have, the decisions are easy. We say yes to things that we don't wanna do because we don't know what we would rather do. But once you get clear on who you are, what your mission is, your time becomes very sacred and very valuable. And I think that, with boundaries that's you know. Let's just say you go to work and in our business, hairstylists have a lot of issues with boundaries because it's the service business and there's plenty of other businesses like that. But clients will exchange text numbers and emails, and so clients will text you on their schedule it could be 11 o'clock at night on a Friday, or during your kid's soccer game on a Sunday and say, hey, can I get in tomorrow? And then suddenly you're distracted. You're trying to please them and appease them, because we're a people pleasing type of community, and that also just becomes where you don't have our boundaries. We haven't set those firmly on the ground. So if somebody, first of all, I had all these challenges myself until I figured it out, and then they said, okay, look, I'm not, these are my work hours. I'm establishing business hours because I'm a business, I might just be my own person, with my own clients working behind a chair, but it's still a business. I need to take myself more seriously. This is my livelihood, this is what put food on the table, this is what makes our life either better or harder, depending on how I react with my business and my clients and with the money that comes in. I can't just give my time away for free. And once you decide what you want and who you are, you got to first decide on the professional and I'm gonna have professional boundaries. It's not personal. You have to remove the emotion from it. That's the hardest thing to do. And once you do that, I would suggest just writing it down, put it on the back of your phone so when somebody calls you, look at it, you turn it around and says do not answer it, it's after hours. What I did was I actually got a second phone line and just put that for my clients and at five o'clock when I was done, I just turned it off. So that was like you have to separate yourself. Once it got clear, it's like I'm gonna have boundaries and I'm gonna have professional boundaries and personal boundaries. And once it got clear on that, everything started to open up for me and it's like once you build that habit, you're strengthening that muscle, that willpower to make saying no a heck of a lot easier and a heck of a lot kinder.
Speaker 1:Because at first, when we're saying no, we feel like we're being mean oh, can I come in tomorrow? Can you squeeze me in like you normally do? No, I can't. That's what you probably think you sound like the first time. It's probably what you do sound like the first time. That's like harsh, you know. But then once we get more confident in that and somebody says, hey, can you squeeze me in tomorrow? I'm like you know I can't. There's no way I can actually do that. I appreciate this, but let's just keep to this If you can't, we can get you in as soon as next week, or you find ways to work around it in a more professional manner without having to feel like you are sacrificing your relationship with your clients.
Speaker 2:I love that so much, dude. So the art of saying no, you know this is interesting. It hasn't come up in this panel today. This art of saying no and I'm so glad to hear that this is like saying no to things that don't serve you, and it's so what you said earlier is so powerful that making you you don't have boundaries because you don't know what you stand for and when you know what you want and the direction you're going, making decisions is so easy Because, like I forgot what book I read it in, I think it was the success principles by Jack Canfield, I'm not sure, but years ago I read a passage that really stuck with me and it was successful people make decisions fast because they know what they value.
Speaker 2:Unsuccessful people go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth all the time. It's simply because they don't know what they're after. And so the very first thing and, by the way, this is what Rewire teaches in the very first module there's a whole system brought out about how to identify exactly what you want specifically, not just a high level vision, but very specifically your unique vision of success. And then, once you know that, making decisions becomes easy. So we did some work together and it was super fun, super powerful. What was that like? What happened next in Ryan's life? Bring us into your world. What happened in your business after that?
Speaker 1:Wow. Well, after about a day of digesting it all, after you left, I'm very keen to put things into practice right away, and that's the best way to remember and make a habit of what you just learned. So I remap the entire business. I created all these different types of ways to streamline what we do. We've got live classes, we've got online certification programs, we've got physical products. What else do we have? We've certified slans, like all these different areas that have just grown, and they're all significant each and of themselves, so each one of those could be a business. But we're like I'll just do all this stuff. It's like that's my mind, Like let's do more. And now it's there and I'm happy it all works together.
Speaker 1:It's not like in different industries, it's all in the same industry, it all connects. But it didn't connect and it took you sitting around with me putting everything visually on a whiteboard about OK, all of these different areas that you have, all these different streams of business and income, need to talk to each other, need to connect with each other, and what that's going to do it's going to lessen the workload in your life instead of having to really to stop, focus and redirect several times a day, Like I'm going to focus on this right now, but it doesn't connect with this. So then I got to take a stop and go right back into this and take a stop and go back into this and I'm constantly shifting throughout the day and right now in my season of life it's a great season of life where I've got these two little kids and they're just my life, my world and my wife and I want to spend a lot of time with them and, because of the way I want to work out, I want to take care of myself. So I'm not really able to work a lot because I want to. I have the ability to be home quite a bit. So my work schedule is typically, after I work out in the morning, I drop the kids off, I get to work about 10 30, and I leave about three. So I mean, that's what? Four to five, five to six hours on a good day that I can actually focus on work. And there's other things that come up, like yesterday I went to my kids' school and I was reading all the kids' books. That was fun.
Speaker 1:So I like to take part in these different types of activities and that doesn't. I'm kind of like a CEO that works part time and, although it sounds great, I'm always like, okay, I really need to be focused if I want to get accomplished what I need to get accomplished this week, because I have grand plans. I don't like to take it easy. I love to work and grow and do all this stuff, but I also like to be with my kids and I want to be fully with them and my wife and my family when I'm there.
Speaker 1:So, by being torn in all these different directions, before I was able to connect with you and have this business intensive, which was just life changing. I couldn't do it. I was always playing catch up, I was staying up late, I was getting up early in the morning, I wasn't getting any sleep. I wasn't able to show up 100%. Now, since everything has become so much more streamlined and I can't wait to share with you soon we'll do it off this, but it's simplifying the model even more and it's just like, like it's a dream experience, a dream funnel, a dream. It's amazing.
Speaker 1:I'm just I can't ever watch it in January and you're gonna be like, yes, yes, yes, but we were already making seven figures in our business and you showed us how we can easily streamline and double that by doing less than what we were already doing. And of course I'm like, yes, that's right on my alley, I wanna do less, so I wanna make more. I mean, that's the dream, right, and that's what we're all trying to do. Unfortunately, at first you have to work more and make less. That's the hard thing. We can't just jump into that. Work less, make more. We wanna get there, but you gotta put in that time early and then you just keep that wheel going, that bike thing turning, the bike tire turning. So now you'll be pretty stoked to hear that this new model. Once I put the numbers in again, it's like less, even less work with more returned. We're not far off from a eight figure year business.
Speaker 2:Breaking fantastic, not far off from eight figure per year business. That is absolutely amazing. And to those of you sitting here going well, this isn't a business intensive that I'm enrolling in tomorrow. Think about it like this right. First of all, a business intensive is a multi-five figure investment. That's what Ryan invested in me coming up to to work with him, and we did that with his business by a life. You see me looking over here.
Speaker 2:Ryan is the chat box by aligning his priorities within the business right and saying, okay, what needs to happen where? We're gonna do that with your life as it relates to success, because the principles surrounding what I taught Ryan at the business intensive are the exact same principles that we teach in REWIRED. Rewired is just about all the different priorities of your life and that's what we're gonna be focused on. And so, ryan, last question for your brother. Everyone knows that REWIRED's opening tomorrow. Everyone knows that it's coming tomorrow after a day five challenge. Any advice you'd have for anyone, whether in their hair industry or not in the hair industry, on anyone watching this at all about joining us tomorrow when we give the opportunity?
Speaker 1:I would wow. I would say, if you've never done anything like this before, do it. It's scary but it's life changing. It'll change your life forever. And if you haven't done something like this before, do it. It's life changing because you're gonna be able to take what you learned and what you already know and things are gonna start to click and make sense.
